Our Staff
Executive Director
Linda McKay-Panos - Linda is the Executive Director of the Alberta Civil Liberties Research Centre. She taught Language Arts and Social Studies with the Calgary Board of Education for 7 years before returning to university to obtain a Law Degree. She practiced law for a time, before joining the Alberta Civil Liberties Research Centre in 1992 as a Research Associate. Linda is a sessional instructor in the Faculties of Arts and Law at the University of Calgary. Linda received her Bachelor of Education, Juris Doctor and Master of Laws degrees from the University of Calgary. Linda is the Past President of the Alberta Association for Multicultural Education and the Past President of the Public Legal Education Network of Alberta. Linda is the author of several publications dealing with civil liberties, access to information, human rights, discrimination, equality and related topics. Linda received the 2001 Suzanne Mah Award, an Alberta Centennial Medal in 2005 and was selected in 2017 to be celebrated by YW she who dares Canada 150 Project for her work in human rights in Alberta.
Research Associate
Myrna El Fakhry Tuttle - Myrna is the Research Associate at the Alberta Civil Liberties Research Centre. She has a law degree from Saint Joseph University in Beirut. She earned an M.A. in Human Rights and Democratization from the University of Malta, and an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from American University Washington College of Law. She practiced law in Lebanon and worked as a consultant in Washington D.C and New York. She was assistant dean for student affairs and a lecturer at Qatar University, where she taught international human rights and international humanitarian law. She also worked as a paralegal instructor at CDI College in Calgary. She is passionate about human rights and civil liberties and has been involved with many organizations that deal with immigrants, refugees and human rights issues.
The Human Rights Education Staff
The Human Rights Educators do presentations across Alberta. They do presentation for Junior High and Senior High school students, education sessions forteachers about human rights through presentations at teachers' conventions, in-service training, and professional development, and through participation in teachers' groups and networks. As well they present on a variety of human rights and civil liberties topics to community groups and organizations.

Sharnjeet Kaur is the Administrator and resident horticultural expert at our centre. Sharnjeet is in charge of management, bookkeeping and keeping our office running smoothly.
