Human Rights Education Program
The Human Rights Education Program teaches secondary students about human rights law, from the international level to the local level. The program combines direct teaching of students as well as coaching and assisting teachers in the human rights field. We create resource materials to assist teachers in teaching students about human rights issues.

We can customize a presentation for staff or students at your school. We can also create a presentation on a topic of your choice.
The Staff
Heather Forester and Temitope Oluleye are responsible for developing new materials, and contribute to the teaching throughout Alberta. Three other contract educators, Pamela Dos Ramos and Ayodeji N Otiti, also teach. Pamela is responsible for Southern Alberta and Ayodeji for Northern Alberta. Martha McManus rounds out our team, mostly concentrating in Calgary and Southern Alberta. The Human Rights Educators are not only available to schools but also will do education sessions for teachers about human rights through presentations at teachers' conventions, in-service training, and professional development, and through participation in teachers' groups and networks.
