Niceness does not make us immune to racism. The narrative of white goodness & innocence actually works to conceal ignorance, microaggressions, or individual/systemic racism. By believing that we are “nice” and “well-intentioned,” we might feel that we cannot possibly be racist. But unfortunately, niceness and good intentions are not enough.
