Interested in guest speakers, seminars, lectures? Look no further!

We'll provide a free speaker (subject to some limitations) on many civil liberties and human rights topics. We do this throughout Alberta! Or we'll do a one-day seminar for a fee.

Check out our Brown Bag Lecture series. Every year we present free lunch hour lectures at the University of Calgary. Past topics have been timely! For example:

  • access to information
  • children's rights
  • hate groups
  • reproductive technology
  • domestic violence
  • Aboriginal rights

And for students and teachers throughout Alberta, we proudly present our Human Rights Education Project.

Research

Look to us for excellent contemporary human rights research. Examples:

  • proposals for reform of human rights legislation;
  • report on Alberta's compliance with the Universal Declaration on the Rights of the Child;
  • report on citizen complaints about police conduct;
  • manual for lawyers who represent mentally disabled clients.

Find out more about these and other projects on our Publications list.

Current projects include the following exciting examples:

  • young offenders;
  • privacy;
  • prisoners and work;
  • refugees and discrimination;
  • mentally disabled persons in the criminal justice system;
  • human rights implications of resource development.
